Overview: Setra Group AB is one of Sweden's largest wood industry companies. They specialize in refining forest raw materials into high-quality, climate-friendly products such as glulam, planed wood, components, and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT).
History: Setra Group AB was established as a Swedish company and is currently owned 50% by Sveaskog and 49.5% by the forest owners association Mellanskog. The remaining 0.5% is owned by around 1,400 smaller shareholders.
Products:
Glulam: A type of structural timber product made from layers of solid wood bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant adhesives.
Planed Wood: Smooth, finished wood used in various construction and furniture applications.
Components: Various wooden components used in construction projects.
Cross Laminated Timber (CLT): A versatile, strong, and sustainable building material made from several layers of kiln-dried lumber stacked in alternating directions.
Sustainability: Setra Group AB is committed to sustainable practices. They source timber from responsibly managed forests and produce bioproducts such as bark, chips, and shavings for the paper and pulp industry, as well as for energy production.
Operations: Setra Group AB operates eight production sites around Sweden, including seven sawmills and a processing unit. They also have a planing mill in Great Britain operated by Setra Wood Products.
